To Volunteer
If you are are person who has a heart for helping others then we have plenty of opportunities for you to serve.Hammers of Hope Vision Statement: A source of hope for homeowners in time of desperate repair needs.
Mission Statement: To be a safety net that provides free home repairs focused on safety and comfort issues to low-income families, seniors, and persons with disabilities, who have exhausted all available assistance options and have lost all hope.
Hammers of Hope is a cooperative charitable effort made possible by Jefferson County Community Partnership, Disability Resource Association, and a coalition of home repair volunteers.
Rebuilding TogetherRebuilding Together provides services at no charge to low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners. Various churches, neighborhoods and community and service organizations refer homes to the project. Homeowners must submit financial information for review and approval by the Rebuilding Together Board.
Rebuilding Together is entirely supported through the donations and volunteer efforts of the community. Whether you are a novice or a pro, anyone age 14 or older who's willing to lend a hand can help us on Rebuilding Day. We definitely need people who have some skills in areas like carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, and other technical areas. However, if you are someone who simply has a heart for helping people and are willing to be used where needed please call. This is an amazing opportunity to bring the community of Jefferson County together for a great cause.
Give Kids a Smileis a national program sponsored by the ADA, serves to provide dental care for children in need at no cost.JCCP hosts this event for its local community annually. Local dentists, hygienists, assistants, and other community volunteers get involved for a day of free check-ups, cleanings, and restorative care. The 2009 event was held on May 2 and 9, at Allied College in Fenton, Precision Dental Care in Imperial, Brookwood Dental Center in Fenton, and DeCo Dental in Fenton. Ten dentists and their staff volunteered their time over the two-day, four-location event to provide free dental care. Over 100 dental and non-dental volunteers helped out during the event, and $19,287 worth of dental care was donated. In total, 44 Jefferson County children were served.
Each year, patient referrals and volunteers are needed! Please contact Jessica Rhodes at (636) 464-5144, x20, or community@jccp.org, to find out more about Give Kids a Smile!
