Jefferson County Safe Babies Program
The Safe Babies Program, funded through the Children’s Trust Fund and many community partners, provides at-risk infants with new cribs/pack and plays and other safe sleep accessories.

Nurses for Newborns collaborates with JCCP to help educate families on safe sleep for infants. JCCP also does this directly for clients.

Each crib/pack and play distributed will involve at least two home visits. The goal of the project is to reduce the risk of infant fatality and injury. In the coming year, there are plans to increase our efforts in order to meet the growing needs of families with young children in Jefferson County.

JCCP holds monthly Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)/Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) Prevention Trainings as part of the requirements for parents to receive safe sleep equipment. These monthly trainings are open to the public and are free.

Training dates for 2010 are the third Tuesday of each month.

*All trainings are held at 6:00 PM in Conference Room C at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Festus.

Contact Jessica at (636) 464-5144, ext. 20, or community@jccp.org

to sign up for the program and/or trainings.
