People's "All Stars Among Us" ContestThe Results Are InThis past year I had the priviledge of being selected as one of three finalist for the St. Louis Cardinal region in the "People/MLB "All Stars Amongs Us" Contest. It was a great honor to have been selected as a finalist from among the thousands of deserving people who were nominated.
The winner, Eric Greitens of The Mission Continues has done inspiring work in building a nation wide orgainzation that challenges wounded veterens to realize their worth is still significant. Foreverything he has done in service to our country and for the wounded warriors coming home he deserved to win. We at the JCCP want to congratulate him and wish him all the best for the future. The work I do at Jefferson County Community Partnership through "Hammers of Hope" and "the "JeffCo Express" impacts many people throughout Jefferson County. Making a difference in the lives of people has always been my mission in life. I am proud of what I do and I have been blessed to work with a group of volunteers who make it all possible to provide the services that we do. The "15 minutes of fame" was fun but the work I do will continue for a lifetime and beyond. There is a lot work still to be done and hopefully the exposure of being in the contest will help more people in the days ahead. Thanks again to everyone for their votes and words of encouragement.
One of the most exciting results of the "People All Stars Among Us" Contest, is that Eric Greitins and I met and we are going to be moving ahead and forging a partnership between Hammers of Hope and The Mission Continues. I have written job descriptions for possible placement of a veteren as a The Missions Continues Fellow for both Hammers of Hope and JeffCo Express. We have already worked on two projects together and are looking forward to future joint projects. It is a perfect fit for our two organizations and we would never had made a connection if not for the opportunity to be in "The All Stars Among Us." God allowed me to be chosen out of thousands of nominations to be one of the three St. Louis finalists. Our collaboration would never have happened without it.
